What we don't publish
- Party-political questions: elections, parties, politicians' ratings.
- Questions about specific people.
- Medical advice.
Questions like these easily turn into a contest over who can bring in more supporters, and the resulting “ranking” is misleading. Questions about specific people can hurt those who never agreed to be voted on. Medical decisions should be made with a doctor, not based on what percentage of a website's visitors think.
We do publish questions about everyday life, such as single-use plastic bags, even when there are laws about them. Our polls are meant to help you compare your choices with other people's in day-to-day matters, not to become a battleground for arguments about people or health.
Who creates the polls
All polls on the site are editorial: we write the questions and the answer options. You can't create your own polls yet.
Every question has a “Hard to say” option, so nobody has to pick at random. Next to the buttons there's a short piece of context: what is known about the topic and why people are discussing it.
How to report a mistake
If you spot a mistake in a question, the answer options or the text, or a page isn't working properly, write to us through the feedback form and briefly describe what's wrong. There's a “Report a problem” link at the bottom of every page.
